Google released Latest operating system Android "Nougat"

People who are concerned (Nexus device people) should mark 5th August as an important date because it is said that this is the day when the version 7.0 of Android mobile OS- also known as Android Nougat- is making an entry. The news is courtesy a very credible leaker Evan Blass. According to Blass, the update would arrive with the next google Android security patch but Nexus 5 users may feel disappointed as this new development does not incorporate support for their device. This means that only Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P will receive the updates.

If you are wondering about the features that will accompany he Nougat, then here they are:

The return of manual exposure: The manual exposure feature which was not visible on earlier preview builds of Android Nougat is coming back and you can see it when you tap the screen to focus. There will be a slide on the right hand side which will enable the user to adjust the exposure manually.

Customise the volume buttons: The users will be able to customise the volume buttons provided on the handset for certain actions like camera action for volume up and down buttons.

Project svelte: This project is actually an ongoing effort by Google to minimise RAM use by system and apps across the range of Android devices in the ecosystem. It basically focuses on optimising the way apps run in the background.

Notifications: The Direct Reply feature will enable the users to quickly respond to text messages or update task lists within the notification interface. So the users will be able to reply directly from the notifications and the interface will enable the users to see more app information than what they did previously.

Split-screen multitasking: This feature allows the device screen to show two different apps simultaneously and the video apps to support picture-in-picture mode. The system fills the screen with two apps, showing them either side-by-side or one-above-the-other. The dividing line between the two can easily be dragged by the user to make one app larger than the other.

Android TV: The new OS will add the ability to record and playback content from Android TV input services via new recording APIs.

VR mode options: The new OS will come with a sustained performance mode for Virtual Reality (VR).

Android for Work: Android for Work has been updated with a new feature and APIs for devices running Android N. Profile owners can specify a separate security challenge for apps running in the work profile. So, they can set distinct password policies for the work challenge – how long the PIN needs to be, fingerprint can be used to unlock the profile etc.
